High-quality machinery and in-house capability

The quality of the finished product depends on the skill of the people producing it and the machinery available to them. Our Martock facility is equipped with specialist machinery that allows us to complete a broad range of precision engineering and manufacturing work in-house. This gives us greater control over quality, turnaround times and project delivery, while reducing the need to rely on multiple external suppliers.

Our machinery allows us to work with a wide range of materials and produce everything from individual precision components to larger fabricated assemblies.

Our capabilities include:

  • Precision CNC milling and turning
  • Laser cutting
  • Waterjet cutting
  • CNC routing
  • CAD design and prototyping
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Deburring and finishing
  • Complex assembly
  • Inspection and quality control
  • Storage, delivery and installation

Quality at every stage

Quality is built into the way we plan, manufacture and inspect each project. Requirements are reviewed before production begins, allowing our team to identify critical dimensions, material specifications, inspection stages and documentation needs. Components and assemblies can be checked throughout the manufacturing process using equipment such as:

  • Vernier callipers
  • Precision measuring tools
  • Calibrated inspection equipment
  • Coordinate measuring machine technology
  • Independent UKAS-accredited testing where required

This helps us maintain consistency, identify issues early and give customers confidence that their work has been completed correctly.

Our Heritage

Bramley Aerospace builds on more than four decades of engineering and manufacturing knowledge developed at our Martock site. The business began in 1985 as Somerset Fruit Machinery, designing and manufacturing bespoke equipment for apple and blackcurrant growers. Over time, its capabilities expanded into advanced manufacturing and aerospace engineering, with expertise developing across CAD design, CNC machining, profiling, fabrication, additive manufacturing and complex assembly. Following the acquisition of SFM Technology Ltd, Bramley Aerospace is carrying that engineering heritage forward. We are preserving valuable skills and manufacturing knowledge while investing in the people, machinery and quality systems needed to support the next generation of aerospace and precision engineering projects.
