Our CNC routing services are supported by a 2021 CHENcan CC-2030 bridge-type router with extraction.

The machine combines a high-speed spindle, automatic tool changing and vacuum workholding to support accurate and efficient processing of suitable foam, plastic, composite and sheet materials.

Requirement review

We review the drawing, CAD data, material, quantity and intended application to confirm that CNC routing is suitable. At this stage, we also consider feature sizes, edge requirements, tolerances and any secondary operations.

The component geometry is converted into controlled CNC toolpaths. Where appropriate, parts are nested across the sheet or block to improve material use and support an efficient production route.

Material preparation

The selected foam, plastic, board or sheet material is positioned and secured using suitable workholding. Tooling, cutting depths and machine settings are then checked before routing begins.

Routing and machining

The CNC router produces the required profiles, pockets, recesses, slots, holes and other programmed features. Different tools can be used where the part requires several routing operations.

Inspection and completion

Finished parts are checked against the approved drawing, CAD data or production information. They can then be prepared for delivery or transferred into further machining, assembly, marking or finishing.

What is CNC routing?

Which file formats can you work from?
